Thinking out loud again
Posted: Wednesday, October 10, 2007 7:24 AM (PST)
Ok I'm going to think out loud again, see if you follow me.  I'm saved and I know it and been baptized to show it.  So since I'm saved I had to have made Jesus the Lord (or supreme authority) in my life (Romans 10:9).  And since he took me from the horrible place I was at and the state that I was in (a sinner bound for Hell)  then I can't do anything but love him.   I love him because he loved me first and showed me by sending his son to die for us (John 3:16) while I was still a sinner (Romans 5:8).  So if I love him then what do I do?  When Jesus (my supreme authority) was asked he said love the Lord you God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength and second most importantly love your neighbor as yourself.  Jesus went on to say if you love me you will keep my commandments.  Ok, so I know I need to love God with everything I have and if I love him with everything I have then I need to keep his commandments.  Let's recap what I've said so far, 1,  I must first keep his commandments 2. Then love my neighbor as myself.  So if the last thing Jesus commanded here on earth was to GO and teach the nations and if I do that aren't I loving my neighbor at the same time?  Because I care enough about them to fight through all those things emotions that tell me I shouldn't share the God news of what Jesus has done in me and wants to do in them I'm obeying God on both of the greatest commandments.  So it all comes back around to the fact that if I really love and serve Jesus as the supreme authority in my life then sharing Jesus with everyone should be second nature, a reflex.  So can I really love God without sharing his love with others?  Just thinking out loud again.

This is what my Bible Study lesson on Tuesdays was about 2 weeks ago. And really this is about the point we got to- spread the good news out of 1. Commandment and 2. Love, which fall hand in hand. And I think the answer is NO- you can't love God without sharing His love torward others. If you are His son, then you can't go on without evangelizing in action. If you are aware He's there, and you love Him so much, then by reflex you'll make better choices- and if that point you willingly choose not to do anything for Him then that's still not showing love. That's just my view on it- I don't have really any scripture on that one, only personal experience and what I've seen from people I've talked to. Anyone who wants to, feel free to express another opinion because I want to hear what other people say on this.

I don't know if by reflex you will ever make the correct or better decisions because we are such scum.  I don't think that we need to do anything by reflex but always go back to the truth for every decision, but I think that I might have taken you out of context, but that gives me a great topic for another thread.
